Takwimu za Kamisheni ya Utalii Zanzibar inaonyesha idadi ya wageni wanaokuja Zanzibar inazidi kila mwezi wa Februari, kutoka wageni 3,000 mwaka 2004 (ikiwa ni tamasha la mwanzo) mpaka wageni 40,000 kwa miaka ya hivi karibuni. Wafanyabiashara mbalimbali na hata madereva wa taxi wanakiri kwamba wiki ya Sauti za Busara ni kipindi kizuri kwao kibiashara. Mwendelezo wa hali hiyo kwa mwaka huu tunasubiri kuiona. <br /><br /> Mwaka jana mwezi wa nane, taasisi ya Busara Promotions ambayo inayoandaa tamasha la Sauti za Busara, ilitangaza kuahirisha tamasha la 2016 kutokana na kukosa udhamini. Mkurugenzi wa tamasha bwana Yusuf Mahmoud alisema “Mauzo ya tiketi sio tatizo, lakini mauzo hayo hufidia asilimia 30 tu ya gharama za tamasha. Ili tamasha liwe endelevu, tunahitaji kuwa na udhamini wa muda mrefu, Serikali, Wahisani wa kimataifa na wafanya biashara kubadilishana maono yetu”. <br /><br /> Sauti za Busara imeshaleta vikundi zaidi ya 300, vikiwemo 200 kutoka ndani ya Afrika Mashariki na vinginevyo kutoka sehemu mbalimbali za Afrika kama Madagaska, Aljeria, Mali mpaka Zimbabwe. Kwa siku nne watu takribani 20,000 uhudhuria tamasha, ikiwa ni asilimia 70 kutoka Afrika Mashariki na sehemu nyingine za Afrika na asilimia 30 kutoka Ulaya, Amerika, Mashariki ya Kati na Asia. Tamasha hutoa ajira kwa wasanii 400 na wafanyakazi 150 na kutengeneza ajira kama 2,000 kwenye sekta ya utalii Tanzania. </span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /> Maryam Hamdani, mwandishi mzuri wa nyimbo na kiongozi wa kikundi cha taarab (Tausi Women Taarab ) alisema “Nimepokea taarifa za kuahirisha tamasha kwa masikitiko makubwa. Tunaomba wadhamini walifikirie tamasha ili liweze kurudi tena mwaka 2017”. <br /><br /> Sauti za Busara inaiweka Zanzibar katika ramani ya kivutio cha utalii wa kiutamaduni. Hata makisio yanaonyesha tangu mwaka 2004 tamasha limeiingizia Zanzibar dola za kimarekani milioni 70. IFIF 2016 to Address Regulatory Challenges to Accelerate Development of Islamic Finance in Africa

This is widely considered an indispensable to help Islamic finance flourish in Africa and put the continent's Islamic finance industry on a level playing field with conventional finance. <br /><br />African countries harbor nearly a quarter of the world's Muslim population and currently are at different stages in relation to the development of a legal and regulatory framework enabling Islamic banking practices, products and institutions. Currently there are only a few countries that have regulations that fully facilitate Islamic finance activities. Sudan, the host country of IFIF 2016, is one of only two countries in the world whose banking system wholly Sharia compliant. <br /><br />In September 2015, the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), the private sector arm of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB) signed an agreement with the Regional Financial Market Regulatory Body of the Western African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU). The partnership is aimed at mobilizing long-term resources of Union member states and the private sector, especially small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). One of the key areas of cooperation includes information exchange that would help develop the regulatory framework to help Islamic finance flourish in West Africa. <br /><br />A report from the ICD in September 2015, entitled "Islamic Finance in Africa: A Promising Future," highlighted the tremendous growth opportunities for Islamic finance in Africa. Regulatory challenges identified in the report include regulatory inconsistency, the lack of awareness and financial literacy by many end-users and consumers, the shortage of qualified human capital, and the need for a business landscape supporting the growth of Islamic finance. <br /><br />A majority of African countries have dual banking system with distinct regulations for Islamic banking. Some of the countries that issued sukuk in 2015 include Gambia (USD 230 million), Sudan (USD 70 million), Senegal (USD 210 million), Nigeria (USD 700 million) and South Africa (USD 500 million). The decision to host IPA in Botswana received the highest endorsement from H.E. President Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama, the President of Botswana.<br /><br />IPA is a landmark program of the AIF, whose purpose is to increase the prosperity of Africans by catalyzing the innovation spirit in Africa. IPA celebrates its 5 year milestone in helping to shape the innovation landscape in Africa. To date, IPA has attracted more than 6 000 innovators from 50 African countries, making it a truly Pan-African initiative. This year’s event with its “Made in Africa” theme promises to be ground-breaking, extending beyond the Awards ceremony. AIF is offering several avenues of opportunity for local, national, regional and international growth and exposure to Africa’s next cadre of innovators. The event will provide an unprecedented platform for African innovators and innovation enablers to network, share knowledge, explore business opportunities and boost collaboration.<br /><br />Botswana’s selection as host country for IPA 2016 is seen in its commitment towards building its national innovation ecosystem. This is demonstrated by the GoB’s catalytic role in capitalizing on and supporting the knowledge economy through the development of a 57-acre Science Park, dubbed the Botswana Innovation Hub (BIH). The Icon Building in the BIH Park will be launched in September 2016, as Botswana celebrates yet another milestone - 50 years of Independence. “Hosting IPA 2016 and celebrating African ingenuity in Gaborone will afford Botswana an opportunity to showcase its commitment to putting innovation at the center of its development strategy,” says the Botswana Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology, Honorable Nonofo Molefhi. Without full funding and political commitment, the disease could return to previously polio-free countries, putting children everywhere at risk.<br /><br />Rotary’s funds will support efforts to keep 5 countries in Africa polio-free: Nigeria ($5,5), Cameroon ($1.6 million), Chad ($2 million); Ethiopia ($4.1 million), and S0malia ($1,8 million). Additional funds will be support polio eradication efforts in endemic and at-risk countries: Pakistan ($11.4 million), Afghanistan ($6 million), Iraq ($1,6 million) and India ($600 000). Finally, ($350 000) in funds will be dedicated to polio research.<br /><br />Rotary launched its polio immunization program <a href="http://www.endpolio.org/">PolioPlus</a> in 1985, and in 1988 became a spearheading partner in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative with the <a href="http://www.polioeradication.org/">WHO</a>, UNICEF, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which was later joined by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Since the initiative launched, the incidence of polio has plummeted by more than 99.9 percent, from about 350,000 cases a year to 70 confirmed to date in 2015.<br /><br />Rotary has contributed more than $1.5 billion and countless volunteer hours to fight polio. The Africa 2016 Forum aims to reflect on the African opportunity, as well as putting to practice the African integration story. <br /><br />The Forum was initiated - and is spearheaded by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), the development arm of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Dr. Hazem Fahmy, the Secretary General of the EAPD, is confident that the Forum will help drive the business agenda: "We are launching what we feel will become an important event to help drive more intra-African investment and trade. Egypt is an important partner. We have a number of established groups that have already successfully invested in East and Southern Africa. A number of Egyptian companies in the pharmaceutical and ICT industries can offer expertise and solutions that can be replicated throughout our beloved continent. We also have the needed infrastructure to support them. Lastly, our strategic relationship with a number of countries in the Gulf can help other African countries access international capital. The Africa 2016 Forum will help us better understand the African opportunity and will help ensure that policy makers start putting the mechanics in place to make it easier for investors to access our markets." <br /><br />This was a sentiment that was also expressed by Heba Salama, who heads COMESA's Regional Investment Agency: "The aim of the Forum, as well as discussing some of the most pressing issues in Africa today, is to encourage as much B2B interaction. We know that Africa offers the highest rate of return of any region in the world. However, too often, the African private sector is not taking advantage of this opportunity outside of their borders. We aim to change this." <br /><br />The programme will have a big focus on boosting intra-Africa trade and investment by developing new and strategic public and private sector alliances. The organizers expect 1,000 delegates to attend the Forum. <br /><br />Egypt is becoming an attractive regional gateway for international businesses wanting to access large African markets and for the private sector looking for growth partners. A number of Egyptian conglomerates have already invested in a number of African countries in infrastructure, mining, telecoms, manufacturing, finance, and other important economic sectors. And some Egyptian investment banks have in the past year facilitated investments from the Middle East into the region. <br /><br />Sitting at the crossroads of Europe, the Gulf, Asia, and Africa, Egypt is not only focusing on building on its existing relationships with its traditional neighbors but also strengthening its engagement with partners within Africa. <br /><br />"Last year, following our Egypt the Future conference, we managed to secure billions of dollars of commitments and investment. Recently, another investor from the Gulf also announced a multi-billion dollar real estate investment project in the country. The opportunity is very much alive, as much in Egypt as in the rest of Africa, and the time is now," according to Ashraf Salman, Minister of Investment for Egypt. <br /><br />The Bretton Woods institutions have forecast economic growth figures for Egypt of around 4 percent over the next two years. This growth, characterised by renewed investments by several multinational companies across various sectors- from oil (BP has invested in $12-billion in a new project) to beverages (Coca-Cola has made a commitment to spend $500m in Egypt within the next three years) and agribusiness, infrastructure materials and pharmaceuticals, coupled with the new political dispensation, clearly demonstrate that Egypt is on the road of transformational change. <br /><br />The new Tripartite Free Trade Area (TFTA) will lead to the creation of a "borderless economy" that would rank 13th in the world in terms of GDP. It presents an important opportunity not only to harmonise regulations but also to enable deep integration amongst African economies, with a focus on boosting intra-African trade and implementing a number of action plans that relate to investment, trade, infrastructure, industrialisation, productive capacity and trade facilitation. <br /><br />The structure and format of the forum has been specifically designed to provide opportunities to meet face-to-face with high profile government and business decision-makers. There will also be unrivalled access to high level Egyptian policy makers who will be able to provide first hand insights into opportunities and projects in the country. <br /><br />Investment promotion agencies from all over Africa will also be showcasing both public and private investment opportunities and projects that are seeking partners. The completion of these transactions remains subject to approval by the competent authorities.<br /><br />These acquisitions provide a clear illustration of Orange’s international development strategy, which places a priority on accelerating growth in high-potential, emerging markets where the Group is not already present.<br /><br />Through this deal, Orange will reinforce its presence in Africa with two additional countries, adding almost 5.5 million customers to its mobile customer base. This acquisition marks an important step forward in Orange’s dynamic growth strategy and will bring the Group’s African footprint up to 20 countries in 2016.<br /><br />This is further to the initial agreement signed between Airtel and Orange in July 2015 regarding the potential acquisition of Airtel’s operations in Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Chad and Congo Brazzaville. International and regional companies in the signage and graphic industries will converge for the show, showcasing the top and best products and services in the industry. International Expo Consults (<a href="http://www.iecdubai.com/">IEC</a>) , the show’s organizers stated that over 400 international and regional exhibitors will unveil about AED220 million worth of printers and equipment in the event.<br /><br />The 19th edition of SGI Dubai expects to receive over 12,000 visitors from 78 countries and they are set to witness the industry’s latest products and trends. International Expo Consults (IEC) stated that one of the reasons for global exhibitors setting their sights on this region is due to the forecasted 7.2% revenue growth in the printing industry per annum.<br /><br />“Every edition, we receive an unbelievable amount of support from our African visitors. With Africa’s growing economy and its upcoming developments come the increasing demand for state-of-the-art printing equipment. Most visitors from Africa visit the trade show to discover the industry’s cutting-edge trends and products and to network with international stakeholders,” says Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, Chairman of IEC.<br /><br />Falaknaz added, “Because Africa’s printing industry is experiencing a dramatic growth, their industry can benefit from the approach and ideas of different exhibitors in and around the Middle East that they will witness in the exhibition.”<br /><br />Africa’s gross domestic product in the past decade has been rapidly expanding compared to the global GDP average. Africa is considered to be a USD2 trillion economy, and reports revealed that six out of ten fastest growing economies in the world are in Africa.<br /><br />“Africa’s booming economy is an indicator that its signage and graphic sector will experience a huge boost. Hivyo udhibiti wa matumizi yake unahitaji maamuzi magumu ya Serikali pamoja na ushirikiano wa Kitaifa, Kikanda na Dunia kwa ujumla.<br /><br />Balozi Seif alisema licha ya changamoto zilizopo za utekelezaji wa sheria na kanuni za udhibiti wa dawa za kulevya katika kukabiliana na wimbi la uingizaji, uuzaji na matumizi ya dawa za kulevya Nchini, lakini Serikali kupitia vyombo vyake vya dola imefanikiwa kuwakamata wahusika wa biashara hiyo katika kipindi cha mwaka 2015.<br /><br />Alisema Watu wapatao 48 walikamatwa na Kilo Mia 354.7 za dawa za kulevya zikiwemo bangi na heroin na kufikishwa kwenye vyombo vya sheria ambapo watuhumiwa wawili walifutiwa makosa yao baada ya kukosekana ushahidi, mashtaka 18 yanaendelea kusikilizwa Mahakamani na mashtaka 28 yaliyobakia yanaendelea na uchunguzi.<br /><br />Balozi Seif alifahamisha kwamba suala la rushwa limekuwa likipewa nafasi kubwa kuwa ni miongoni mwa vikwazo vya kupata mafanikio dhidi ya vita vya dawa za kulevya licha ya juhudi kubwa inayochukuliwa na Serikali katika kupambana na dhambi hiyo.<br /><br />Alisisitiza kwamba mafanikio dhidi ya vita hivyo vya uzalishaji, uingizaji, usambazaji na utumiaji wa dawa za kulevya unategemea wadau wote kuanzia wananchi, taasisi binafsi pamoja na zile za umma.<br /><br />“Wananchi wako karibu na maeneo yanayolimwa na kuzwa bangi, Polisi na uhamiaji wanayo nafasi kubwa ya kuwatambua wanaoingiza na kuuza dawa za kulevya, Ofisi ya Mkurugenzi mashtaka inayo wajibu wa kutayarisha hati zisizokuwa na kasoro na mahakama ina jukumu la kuharakisha kutoa hukumu stahiki kwa mujibu wa sheria “. Alisema Balozi Seif.<br /><br />“ Kwa hakika kila taasisi sambamba na jamii zikiamua kuwajibika ipasavyo vita dhidi ya dawa za kulevya vitafanikiwa vyema “. Alisisitiza Makamu wa Pili wa Rais wa Zanzibar.<br /><br />Balozi Seif alitoa wito kwa Ofisi ya Makamu wa Kwanza wa Rais wa Zanzibar kupitia Tume ya Kitaifa ya udhibiti na kuratibu dawa za kulevya kuongeza juhudi katika kuwajenga uwezo wa kitaaluma watendaji ili wasimamie vizuri vituo vya kurekebishia tabia kwa vijana walioamua kuachana na matumizi ya dawa za kulevya.<br /><br />Alizipongeza Taasisi na watu binafsi waliojitokeza kuonyesha hisia zao juu ya kukerwa na tatizo hilo ambalo kwa akiasi kikubwa limekuwa likichangia kuathiri nguvu kazi za Taifa hili ambazo zaidi ni Vijana.<br /><br />Balozi Seif alieleza kwamba hatua ya kuanzishwa Nyumba za makaazi ya Vijana wanaoacha matumizi ya dawa za kulevya maarufu Sober House ni kitendo cha kizalendo cha kupigiwa mfano ambacho hata Serikali Kuu inakithamini na kuahidi kushirikiana nao katika kuinusuru Jamii dhidi ya janga hilo thakili.<br /><br />“ Kufanikiwa kwa ujenzi huu ni kuinusuru jamii yetu kutokana na matatizo mbali mbali yanayosababishwa na janga hili la dawa za kulevya.
