Right from its inception, leaders of Shree Hindu Mandal have taken our institution, primarily towards bringing about better understanding within various Hindu Sub-Communities and human society at large through various benevolent activities that created an air of care and concern.
One can see the illustrious growth chart of our Mandal from our historical records. From first Chairman Shri Keshav Vasudev Manhore (1918) to the current Chairman Shri Ramesh Patel, Shree Hindu Mandal has gone through a
tedious journey that has evidenced dedication and wisdom of Hindu leaders in service to mankind over nine decades.
The institution was formed with the following three major aims and objects.
1. To promote the Social, Cultural, Religious, educational and Health Care
of the Hindu Community and of the peoples of Tanzania.

sections of the peoples of Tanzania.
In 1931 the Shree Hindu Mandal started a public dispensary as the precursor of what had to become the a sixty bed modern Shree Hindu Mandal hospital today. In 1953 the foundation was laid for the new premises for the health care facility downtown Dar es Salaam on its current location at Nyanza Street formerly known as Ghose Street. In 1954 this facility was officially opened and got it extended in 1965 when a new maternity home and family planning commenced functioning.
Most of the initial hospital development has been through the process of fund-raising from community members and other well-wishers.
