A team made up of the SAA President, Dr. Ihab Ahmed, the SAA Treasurer, Dr. Namwinga Chintu and the SAA Coordinator/ICASA Director, Mr. Luc Bodea, under the invitation of the Government of Rwanda, embarked on a 3 day official visit to Rwanda to conduct an assessment visit in response to the submission bid of Rwanda to host ICASA 2019.
During the 3 day assessment visit, the SAA Team was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Rwanda, Hon. Édouard Ngirente and the Minister of Health of Rwanda, Dr. Diane Gashumba.
The SAA Team led by Dr. Ihab Ahmed, SAA President, together with the Minister of Health, Dr. Diane Gashumba paid a courtesy call on the President of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul Kagame.
His Excellency expressed his desire and personal commitment in his country’s interest to host ICASA 2019 and pledged his government’s support through the Ministry of Health to make sure that Rwanda was successful in winning the bid to host ICASA 2019.
SAA President, Dr. Ihab Ahmed, on behalf of the Executive Board, expressed his gratitude to His Excellency Paul Kagame, for his commitment to host ICASA 2019 and also take the opportunity to congratulate him on his upcoming tenure as Head of State of the African Union. He later explained that he will translate his message to the SAA Executive Board and to SAA members as well.
