The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Tanzania, in partnership with VFS Global, will provide Canada Visa Application Centre (CVAC) services to Tanzanian applicants wishing to travel to Canada, as part of a global contract awarded by the Government of Canada

A global network of over 125 CVACs worldwide will provide increased access and enhanced administrative services to applicants through a consistent service delivery approach, which will also support biometrics implementation.

IOM is pleased to announce the official opening of its new and improved Canada Visa Application Centres (CVACs) in Dar es Salaam on November 19th 2013. The centre will be operated by IOM under a global public–private partnership with VFS Global.

The CVACs provide exclusive services for the Government of Canada, and are authorised to accept applications in all temporary resident categories (visitor visas, study and work permits) and travel document applications from Canadian permanent residents in Viet Nam.

The CVACs are authorised to provide administrative support services, such as the collection of visa applications, fees and return of passports in sealed decision envelopes to applicants. The CVACs can also assist in scheduling interviews on behalf of the Canadian visa office.

The decision to issue or refuse a visa will continue to be made solely by immigration officers of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), in accordance with Canada’s immigration visa rules and guidelines. The CVACs have no role or influence over the outcome of an application and will not offer any evaluative advice.

The use of the CVACs is fully voluntary. Such service may also be obtained directly from CIC, either at the Canadian visa office located in Dar es Salaam or by using CIC’s new Online Application (E-Apps) system.

With the new facilities offered by the CVACs and operated by IOM in Tanzania, applicants will benefit from a host of facilities and additional services including:

Conveniently located and easily accessible visa application centres
Longer operating hours allowing applicants to visit at a time of their convenience
Convenient and spacious waiting areas with modern facilities
Professional and responsive staff dedicated to handle visa queries and applications
Dedicated new website for easy access to information including visa types, requirements and check-list, biometrics, applicable fees and application status
Dedicated call centres and email support to answer queries and status of applications
Tracking of application status on-line
Secure handling of passports, documents and personal information
