CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
The Zanzibar Stone Town Heritage Society (ZSTHS) was officially registered in 2002, and presently has over two hundred members. The aim of the Society is to work for the preservation and conservation of the Stone Town Heritage, and to promote environmental and social welfare of its inhabitants by conducting public talks, seminars and workshops, etc. Beside training and awareness, the Society is also engaged in advocacy, networking and research and oversees the operations of the Zanzibar Conservation Centre .
The Chief Executive Officer’s key role would be:
- Manage the organisation in guidance with its constitution, objectives, strategic plan and policies
- Responsible for the administration, management of the Society
- Implementation of project activities
- Project / proposal write-ups, fundraising initiatives, and report writing
- Networking and advocacy in national, regional and international settings
Qualifications:
- Relevant Bachelor / Master Degree in administration, management or other relevant field of education
- Five to ten years experience in a management position( preferable in civil societies) added
- Excellent computer skills
- Fluent in Kiswahili and English is a must, other languages an added advantage
- The CEO would be chief accounting officer of the society
The applicant should have a genuine interest in conservation and preservation matters and committed to community work. Self-motivation, an analytical mind and organisational skills are a must.
