Crossroads of African music, Dakar hosts of 3 to 5 May 2012 the Salam Music Expo, the show of African music. For 3 days, the exhibition brings together hundreds of professional musicians from Senegal, Africa and Europe. Program at a music market with exhibition stands, twenty concerts, professional meetings and workshops. Salam The Music Expo will be accompanied by a promotional compilation that brings together a dozen unreleased tracks by artists from the continent.
The Salam Music Expo represents a showcase for music professionals. All the actors in the music industry has the opportunity to present its activities, sell its products, meet professionals, to meet the public, make new collaborations, access to information, promote artists, discover new talents , exchange with government and civil society. The objective of Salam Music Expo is to promote African music, to highlight the economic potential of music to make it competitive African market.
- The professional meetings around the theme "music as a vehicle for development" held at the French Institute of Dakar Thursday, May 3 from 10 to 18 and Friday, May 4 from 10am to 13pm.
- The music market is held Saturday, May 5 from 10h to 19h at the House of Culture Douta Seck. It is open to producers, managers, talent agents, publishers, programmers, recording studios, festivals, concert venues, media, artists, artisans, instrument makers, audiovisual skills, sound business, professional organizations, any actor in connection with the world of music.
- The concerts are open to the public: French Institute Thursday, May 3 at night, House of Culture Douta Seck Friday, May 4th evening and Saturday, May 5 during the day, then a mega concert on driveways Centennial Saturday, May 5 evening with Omar Pene as sponsor of the event
