Cim Financial Services Ltd (Group) today announced that Teresa Clarke, founding chairman and CEO of Africa.com, has been elected to Cim Financial Services' board of directors.

Clarke founded Africa.com in 2010, and has driven it to be one of the world's largest Africa-related websites providing news and information on all 54 countries in Africa. Previously she served as a managing director in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs, where she led corporate finance and merger transactions for Fortune 500 companies. She was the first black woman to serve as a managing director in investment banking at Goldman Sachs. She continues to serve on President Obama's Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa, and the boards of the Student Sponsorship Programme of South Africa, Friends of the Legal Resources Centre (South Africa), and the African Leadership Network. She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

"Teresa is one of today's pioneers in doing business in Africa with over 20 years of experience on the continent. We are excited to welcome her to Cim's board of directors," said Tim Taylor, Cim Financial Services' chairman. "We believe her strong experience in financial services and vast set of relationships will be extremely valuable as CIm continues to expand its businesses on the African continent."

"I am very impressed with the Cim Group's global standards of service and adoption of international best practices. The leadership team, on both the board and management levels, are dynamic, well seasoned, and demonstrate integrity as a core corporate value," said Clarke. "I am honored to be joining this board, and look forward to working with this team for whom I have so much respect."

Clarke graduated from Harvard College with a BA in Economics cum laude, and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a JD from Harvard Law School. She has been recognized as one of the Network Journal's 25 Most Influential Women in Business and has been honored twice by the government of South Africa for her contributions in the field of education as the founder of the Student Sponsorship Programme of South Africa.
