The recently turned 90 years old ‘Grandfather’ of the African Music Ethnomusicology, Professor Emeritus J. H. Kwabena Nketia from Ghana is the key note speaker for the 5th Annual Ethnomusicology Symposium which will be held at the University of Dar es Salaam next week.
The Professor comes on an invitation from the Goethe-Institut in Dar es Salaam under the promotion of interregional knowledge sharing of art and culture.
Other famous and experienced music academician from around the world and the University of Dar es Salaam will present their research papers during the symposium.
The event will also feature rare performances from different musicians.The Symposium is brought to you by the Department of Fine and Performing Arts of the University of Dar es Salaam with support from the Goethe-Institut and the Embassy of the United States of America in Dar es Salaam.
