Vile vile 54% ya walioshiriki kwenye utafiti wa Sauti za Wananchi wanasema kuwa wao ni wafuasi wa CCM, wakati wahojiwa 27% walijitambulisha kuwa ni wafuasi wa Chadema.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">Hata hivyo, hali hii inaweza isiendelee kutokea, CCM imekuwa ikipoteza kura zake tangu mwaka 2005, Mathalani, kura za CCM zilishuka kutoka 80% (2005) hadi 61% (2010) na mwaka 2014 zimeshuka hadi 54%. Hii inaweza kutofautishwa na upenzi wa vyama, wananchi wenye umri kati ya miaka 35- 50 ambao ni 60% wanaiunga mkono CCM na 24% wanaiunga mkono Chadema. Wananchi 16% wameripoti kuwa mbunge wao ametimiza ahadi chache. Hata hivyo, wanne kati ya kumi (38%) wameripoti kufuatilia ahadi kwa mbunge wao. Kwa nafasi zote, kuanzia Rais, wabunge hadi wenyeviti wa mitaa / vijiji, wananchi wana imani ndogo na watendaji wanaoshikilia nafasi hizo leo kuliko miaka miwili iliyopita. Imani ya wananchi imepungua sana kwa wenyeviti wa mitaa / vijiji na madiwani ambao viwango vya kukubalika vimeshuka kwa 25% (mwenyekiti wa kijiji / mtaa) na kwa 23% (madiwani). Imani kwa Rais pia imepungua kutoka 45% mwaka 2012 hadi 31% mwaka 2014.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">Rakesh Rajani, Mkuu wa Twaweza, alibainisha: "Uchaguzi wa vyama na viongozi unahakikisha wananchi wanasikilizwa. Sub-Saharan Africa improves its state of Globalization – citizens to benefit, says DHL

Burundi’s position as the country with the largest increase in its overall global connectedness score (pushing it up from the 140th rank to the 137th) was driven by a substantial broadening of its international interactions.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">Globalization refers to the process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence, or start operating on an international scale. </span><br /> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">According to Charles Brewer, Managing Director of DHL Express Sub Saharan Africa, “Globalization is one of the key forces shaping the continent’s economic growth, and holds vast untapped potential to sustainably improve living standards for Africans. Citizens of globalized countries enjoy better access to a wider variety of goods and services, lower prices and better-paying jobs. Connectedness and prosperity are inextricably linked, and are a result of globalization. Sub-Saharan Africa’s increase in connectedness as shown in the GCI proves the region is on the correct path when it comes to global trade and connectivity.” </span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">This third edition of the GCI ranks 140 countries on their global connectedness levels based on international flows of trade, capital, information and people. One of the report’s key findings is that global connectedness, measured by cross-border flows of trade, capital, information and people, has recovered most of its losses incurred during the 2008 financial crisis. The report also highlights that emerging economies are reshaping global connectedness and are now involved in the majority of international interactions.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">In the GCI, Sub-Saharan Africa’s rising levels of connectedness was driven by the information and people categories. Africa’s transforming energy sector demands new approach from industry players

This is according to <a href="http://www.dpdhl.com/">DHL</a>, the world’s leading logistics company, who have released a white paper on the dynamics, challenges and opportunities that are shaping the current energy sector.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">Jonathan Shortis, Vice President – Energy Sector EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa): DHL Customer Solutions & Innovation, says that the need and desire to explore new geographies and develop new technologies to reach and extract unconventional gas reserves has become ever more apparent. “While growth in the conventional energy sector currently hovers around 1 to 2 percent per annum, the unconventional segment is booming.” </span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">The BP Energy Outlook 2030 predicts that shale gas production will triple, and that tight oil production will increase more than six-fold by 2030. Unlike conventional oils though, unconventional extraction demands higher and continuous investment.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">In terms of Africa’s energy sector, Shortis says that there has been significant growth in oil and gas exploration and production, on the continent in recent years. “There is no sign of Africa’s exploration activity slowing down, and the continent is expected to continue on its growth path as its attractiveness as an investment destination for the sector becomes ever more apparent due to its untapped resources and potential of new discoveries.”</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">He adds however that, as in many other parts of the world, the development of unconventional reserves in the region is still in its infancy. “While there is a view that reserves in areas such as North Africa (Morocco, Algeria, Libya) and South Africa are substantial, little development has taken place.”</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">The white paper explains that due to the ongoing shift in geographies of energy production and demand, energy companies are required to adjust their approach to supply chain management.</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">Shortis explains that from a supply chain perspective, both conventional and unconventional energy companies face an intriguing set of challenges. “Supply chains supporting conventional energy market, are still developing as companies have had to expand into ever more inaccessible and remote locations to support the growth in global demand. Obtaining further clinical data on the combination of Artesunate with Mefloquine in children in Africa was recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and its Prequalification Programme. </span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">ASMQ FDC is one of several recommended ACTs that aim to delay the emergence of resistance to the individual drug components of the combination treatment. The treatment regimen is easier to administer by the fact that the two drugs are combined into one tablet that only requires once-a-day administration over three days (as compared to twice-a-day over three days for AL).</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">‘The ASMQ fixed-dose combination has proven its importance among tools recommended by the WHO and can now be available to African children suffering from uncomplicated falciparum malaria’, said Dr Bernard Pécoul, Executive Director of <a href="http://www.dndi.org/">DNDi</a>. ‘Considering that a child dies every 30 seconds from malaria, we hope that governments in affected African countries will now take up this additional treatment option to ensure their populations have access to several ACTs.’</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">ASMQ FDC was originally developed by DNDi and the Brazilian government-owned pharmaceutical company Farmanguinhos/Fiocruz and was registered in Brazil in 2008. </span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size: large;">A South-South technology transfer between Farmanguinhos and Cipla, India, was achieved in 2010 to facilitate the implementation of ASMQ FDC worldwide and was pre-qualified by the WHO Prequalification Programme in 2012.
